Promoting Reflection on Career Readiness Competencies Among Study Abroad Students

This session will examine the development, deployment, and results of reflection work on the NACE career readiness competencies that Goucher College has incorporated into all of its semester- and year-long study abroad programs. Significant attention will be given to how this kind of reflection work may be adapted to audience members' campuses.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify and implement strategies for partnering with study abroad offices around career readiness competencies.
  • Develop and deploy reflection assignments focused on study abroad’s unique capacity to enhance career readiness.
  • Combine narrative reflection work, as appropriate, with more survey-based approaches to assess the impact of experiential learning programs on career readiness.
