Understanding the myriad of forms and governmental policies related to the FLSA can make any career coach think they've left higher education and are working in the legal field! This presentation will review Affiliation Agreements and similar forms, as well as break down the FLSA, so the Career Services staff can proactively guide their students.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will learn how to better decipher FLSA guidelines, through examples and case studies, from position posts, descriptions, and agreements.
Participants will be introduced to legal terms and phrases that appear in documents like Affiliation Agreements, so they can make informed decisions regarding signatures and approvals.
Participants will be given tools and information to write or improve existing student learning agreements and/or to help course instructors with the process.
