Vijay Jacob is a Certified Gallup Clifton Strengths Coach (November 2024) and the current Manager of ACC Career Services Today’s Jobs team where he also teaches courses and provides strength-based career coaching. He leads a team of career coaches and instructors responsible for creating and delivering customized career development courses and workshops in collaboration with departments and community partners. The cornerstone program of the Today’s Jobs, the Strategies for Today’s Jobs course, is a FREE, 4-week comprehensive job-preparation course where participants hone their job-search strategies and materials through highly-interactive classes to pursue their career goals. Participants receive free weekly career coaching, access to career assessments, and training on how to use job-application preparation software tools (JobScan, Clifton Strengths, and Big Interview). Since 2016, the program has helped thousands of individuals advance their career - and life.
In addition to a Master’s In Divinity, Vijay brings 16+ years of experience in coaching emerging leaders, developing highly functioning intercultural teams, and designing transformative experiences in the higher education and non-profit sectors. He enjoys helping individuals at a career crossroads find clarity and confidence to leverage their strengths to succeed in the next step of their career journey. Vijay previously served as the Assistant Director of the International Student and Scholars Office at Azusa Pacific University and an International Student Advisor at the University of Texas at Austin.
Vijay’s family is originally from SriLanka, but he was born and raised in Kenya before moving to the United States. As a Third Culture Kid (TCK), he enjoys traveling and interacting with people from various cultural backgrounds.
