Shantra Laye (pronounced Shann-Trah) is a seasoned Human Resources executive with over two decades of expertise in talent acquisition, workforce strategy, and relationship management. She currently serves as Vice President of Campus Recruiting at SouthState Bank, where she leads the early careers strategy, oversees university relations, and drives national recruitment initiatives that strengthen the bank’s future talent pipeline.
Previously, Shantra served as the Students and Early Career Leader at Delta Air Lines, where she led the Global Emerging Talent candidate experience function and shaped the company’s approach to attracting and engaging student talent. She has also held senior HR leadership roles at Hilton Hotel Corporation and Hertz Corporation, where she advanced human capital strategies that fostered innovation and sustained organizational growth.
Shantra is widely recognized for her ability to build and manage high-impact partnerships and execute large-scale event activations with organizations such as United Way, The Consortium, National Urban League, Society of Women Engineers, National Black MBA Association, and many others. A respected voice in early talent strategy, she has served as a keynote speaker and panelist at leading conferences including SHRM, NACE, GACE, URx, HackingHR, NACE and the National Black MBA Association.
She has successfully led cross-functional initiatives that align people strategy with business growth, driving outcomes that enhance organizational performance and culture. Known for her executive presence and collaborative leadership style, Shantra consistently builds trust across all levels of an organization and delivers results through strategic talent development.
A proud Atlanta native, Shantra is also an avid traveler who enjoys exploring global cultures, discovering new restaurants, and collecting passport stamps with her family.
