Zaibis Muñoz-Isme is a senior leader in higher education known for building innovative, equity-driven strategies that disrupt the status quo and center the lived experiences of marginalized communities. A proud Boricua, wife, and mother of two, Zaibis brings a fierce commitment to justice, a deep well of cultural wisdom, and an unapologetically bold leadership style to every room she enters.
Her doctoral research focused on the recruitment and retention of Latinas in senior executive roles at predominantly white private institutions, uncovering both the systemic barriers and transformative potential these leaders bring to the academy. She remains deeply passionate about creating pathways for women of color in leadership, cultivating inclusive organizational cultures, and reimagining what transformative leadership can look like in education and beyond.
Zaibis is also a rising voice in the conversations around professional neglect, institutional betrayal, and the real cost of brilliance while Brown. Through speaking, writing, and consulting, she champions radical authenticity and intentional design in leadership, organizational change, and personal growth.
When she’s not challenging broken systems or mentoring emerging leaders, you can find her planning her next family adventure, writing her first book, or laughing out loud over coffee with her tribe of bold women who tell the truth and love hard.
