Clifton E. Shambry Jr. is a Black, cis-man that is spiritual, queer, and a first-gen, limited-income (FLI) college graduate, author and educator raised on the east coast. He currently serves full-time as the Associate Director of Life Design for Sutdent Community and Belonging and Life Design Educator at Johns Hopkins University where he supports individuals and groups to think about the how our social identities and how help design fulfilling lives.
Clifton’s goal is to give back and be an example of what it can mean for Black and Brown men to progress in our world today by continuing to build affinity space for people from underrepresented backgrounds to be their best selves through asset-based mentoring, advising, connections, and immersive experiences.
Clifton earned an Associate of Arts and a Bachelor in Business Administration-Management as well as a Master of Arts in Higher and Postsecondary Education.
Clifton enjoys helping folks think about how they can incorporate JEDIB (Justice, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Belonging) practices in their everyday lives including workplaces, and has been honored as a rising star and a leader in diversity, and inclusion initiatives.
For fun, Clifton enjoys playing card and board games (especially spades), singing at church, and finding spots in Baltimore to sit and relax. If Clifton could tell his college self anything, he’d say be bold, be curious, and be you to the fullest.
Clifton looks forward to helping students and professionals think about their identities and how they shape their life’s journey. With 10+ years of helping students and professionals lead their organizations, create fulfilling lives and affinity spaces, consulting on DEI in the workplace, coaching , and mentoring. If Clifton could tell his college self anything, he’d say be bold, be curious, and be you to the fullest.
