Principal Recruiter, University Talent
Uber, California, United States
Heather Henderson is a first-generation college graduate who began her career at 18 as a campus tour guide and went on to become the youngest academic advisor at UC Santa Cruz. The proud daughter of a university secretary affectionately known as “Math Mom,” Heather grew up witnessing the transformative power of higher education and mentorship, which continues to shape her mission today.
After college, Heather found herself unemployed—armed with a degree but no roadmap. Instead of giving up, she got resourceful. She spent her days reading books at the Barnes & Noble (even when she couldn’t even afford a coffee), and became a DIY career coach thanks to classics like "Resumés for Dummies" and "What Color Is Your Parachute?" That season of scrappiness and self-starting sparked a deep commitment to helping others find clarity and direction.
Now a Principal Recruiter at Uber—formerly with Google, Accenture, and Visa—Heather brings over a decade of experience connecting extraordinary talent to high-impact roles in tech. She’s led global hiring strategies, mentored hundreds of emerging professionals, and currently drives next-gen programs designed to elevate the intern and new grad experience.
By day, she’s a recruiter. By night, she’s a thought leader and the voice behind "Living Life Fulfilled"—a popular blog focused on digital well-being, burnout recovery, and purpose-driven living. With a B.A. in Human Development, a minor in Psychology, and a Diversity & Inclusion certificate, Heather blends empathy and strategy in everything she builds.
Her secret sauce? A deep belief that people don’t just need jobs—they need to feel seen, valued, and inspired.
