Monique Sample currently serves as the Student Programs and Employer Partnerships Specialist of Career Services at Virginia Commonwealth University, where she supports the intersectionality of identity and career efforts in comprehensive career development services for students across various disciplines. She serves as the primary advisor for VCU PRIME, a student-led community and networking initiative for students from underrepresented backgrounds interested in healthcare careers.
Prior to joining VCU Career Services, Monique held various roles in higher education at VCU, Randolph-Macon College, and in housing and urban development. She has presented at numerous conferences and workshops on diversity and inclusion, employer relations, career development, leadership, growth, and the role of new technology in advancing career development. Monique has also led conversations on AI technology—exploring its benefits, challenges, and its impact on DEI and underrepresented communities in the workforce.
She has developed and implemented programs to support students from diverse backgrounds in achieving their career goals and has worked closely with employers to promote inclusive hiring practices. Monique holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Sweet Briar College and is currently pursuing a Master’s of Education Leadership at Virginia Commonwealth University. Dedicated to fostering student and employer success, she is committed to empowering others in today’s rapidly changing job market.
