Kay leads and manages career service and programming operations centered on the career development of graduate students (master's and doctoral degrees), international students (undergraduate and graduate), and postdoc fellows at the University of Connecticut. Kay advocates for career needs in and beyond academic departments, supporting career diversity exploration, and contributing toward transparency in career outcomes. She consults with faculty and departments to integrate career milestones within graduate degree programs and curricula, addressing barriers to career success. Kay is co-founder and project lead of the Inclusive Career Conversations: Reducing Biases and Career Choice Disparagement and Bullying training and also of Graduate Student Career Readiness modules embedded in courses. Kay is a member of the Graduate Career Consortium's Member Engagement and Belonging Committee, a past member of NACE's Ethics and Principles of Practice Committee, and a member of NCDA. She also periodically writes for the Inside Higher Ed Carpe Careers column. Kay has an M.Ed. from Lesley University and a B.A. from Bennington College.
