Jen Harriger became Hearst Television’s Early Career Recruiter in 2022, serving properties nationwide. Her journey with Hearst Television began in 2016 as WPTZ-TV’s Weekend Evening Anchor and Weekday Reporter. She went on to become the station’s Managing Editor, overseeing all reporters and assisting in training early career talent. Previously, Jen was WENY-TV’s Executive Producer and evening Anchor. She also hosted and produced Twin Tiers Sunday, a weekly show that took viewers on adventures around the community. Jen graduated from Columbia College Chicago in 2011 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism for Television and traveled to Europe as an international reporter during her last year of college. While overseas, she was able to cover the war crimes trial of former Democratic Republic of Congo Vice President Jean–Pierre Bemba at the International Criminal Court and spotlight the drug abuse and crime surge in Paris’s Public Housing District. From 2010 to 2011, Jen interned for Kurtis Productions, assisting in the production of MSNBC’S American Greed and Crime Inc. -- covering topics like human trafficking and grand theft auto. Jen’s hometown is just outside Chicago. Growing up, she spent most of her summers in Poland, where her mom is from. Now, she lives near Charleston, South Carolina, with her husband and son.
