Alyssa Marks, MSW (she/her/hers) has worked in higher education and the nonprofit sector for nearly 20 years with a focus on educational access and attainment. Alyssa has worked at Metropolitan State University of Denver since 2017 and has served the University in many capacities including overseeing internships, creating a signature Earn & Learn internship program, building industry partnerships, and as an affiliate faculty member. In 2022, Alyssa was promoted into the Director for Faculty Engagement and Experiential Learning role, overseeing a team of five to build out strategy and capacity for engaging faculty and creating resources for greater career & experiential learning preparedness for students. Alyssa received both her Master’s in Social Work focused on community organizing and her Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor. Alyssa grew up in Metro Detroit and has called Colorado home since 2012. In her free time, she loves spending time with her husband and her rescue pup, hiking & skiing in the mountains of Colorado, or striving to bake bread worthy of a Paul Hollywood handshake.
