Dawnelle Prince is an accomplished higher education professional with over twenty years of leadership in student affairs, having served at institutions such as Blinn College, Texas A&M University, the University of Kansas, Texas Chiropractic College, and the University of Houston. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business from Texas A&M University in 1997.
Throughout her career, Ms. Prince has made a significant impact by championing underrepresented populations in STEM and pioneering innovative student success initiatives. As founder and director of the Career Center in the College of Natural Sciences & Mathematics at the University of Houston, she has been instrumental in shaping the future of countless students.
Ms. Prince is credited with launching transformative programs, including the Engineering Ambassador Program at both the University of Houston and the University of Kansas, the Summer Engineering Camp at the University of Kansas, the Industrial Scholar Interns Program at the University of Houston, the Employer University (now Employer Summit), and the First-Generation College Student Career Access and Scholarship Program.
Her success is rooted in her exceptional ability to build relationships and create networks that bridge students, faculty, and industry professionals. This network has become a vital support system that extends beyond the university, connecting students with mentors, internships, and job opportunities that pave the way for long-term success.
Ms. Prince’s bold, innovative approach and outside-the-box thinking have earned her numerous accolades, including the Rising Star Award from the Texas Association of College Admission Counseling, a meritorious award from the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers' student chapter at the University of Houston, and recent recognition in the Houston Business Journal. Her leadership in higher education is defined by a deep commitment to student success, a passion for innovation, and unwavering dedication to creating a lasting impact on the next generation.
