Associate Director of Learning & Development
Saxbys
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States
I am an educator and instructional designer who strives to support adult learners in developing transferable skills and cultivating a lifelong learning mindset. My professional background combines 10 years of experience in higher education and corporate training and development, where I’ve worked to make learning sustainable, accessible, and scalable.
At Saxbys, I'm the Associate Director of Learning & Development. In this role, I support the Student Leadership experiences across the Saxbys Experiential Learning Platform (E.L.P.), a launchpad for student-led, on-campus businesses that provide exceptional, paid, experiential learning opportunities for all students, regardless of major or desired career path. As Associate Director, I contribute instructional design expertise to infuse E.L.P. program offerings, including career readiness seminars, microcredentials, and asynchronous trainings, with learning design best practices. Through these educational infrastructures, the E.L.P. empowers student leaders to cultivate transferable power skills, setting them up to take charge of their personal and professional development.
Prior to joining Saxbys, I worked as a corporate instructional designer, supporting the learning and development goals for over 1,000 employees. In this role, I led sales training strategy at all levels of the organization, developed leadership training courses for new managers, and co-designed semester-long internships impacting dozens of college students. My student-centered approach to learning design draws from my teaching career at both Purdue University, where I earned my M.A., and the University of Michigan, where I earned my PhD in English.
