Converted to Islam in graduate school; spent quite a bit of time studying and learning about the faith and Muslims around the world.

Traveled to the Middle East several times (visit about once a year).
Married to Arab Muslim man and now have large family of Arab Muslim in-laws in the Middle East.
Have two Arab American children, whom we are raising as Muslim and bilingual through family practices, mosque attendance, children's language and religion educational programs.
