Managing Consultant
Scott Resource Group
WEST HARTFORD, Connecticut, United States
Mary Scott is the founder and Managing Consultant of Scott Resource Group [SRG], an independent consulting firm specializing in university relations and early talent recruitment issues. Drawing on extensive practitioner experience in the corporate, academic and research arenas, she provides consulting and analytics professional services in university relations and recruitment to major corporations nationwide.
Since its launch, SRG has conducted an ongoing series of surveys on a wide range of current university recruitment topics, each a campus-based, customer-focused study designed to examine what college students evaluate as the most – and least – valuable job search strategies and practices as they consider potential employers. Mary’s research project findings are the topics of her frequent speaking engagements at corporate meetings and professional conferences, including annually [since 2004] at the National Association of Colleges and Employers as well as regional college/employer associations.
Mary has published professional articles in several human resource and business journals, and has been a faculty member at the College Relations and Recruiting Institute of Cornell University, as well as Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business Strategic College Recruiting Conferences, and is a regular contributor to the NACE Journal.
Prior to forming the practice, Mary served in a number of increasingly responsible positions as a recruitment professional at Aetna. As Director, Corporate Staffing, Mary had leadership responsibility for all Corporate Headquarters employment, as well as Aetna's national college relations and intern programs, information systems recruitment, temporary employee, and rotational development programs. She has additional recruitment experience as Assistant Director of Admissions at a private liberal arts college. Mary received her undergraduate degree in English from the University of Saint Joseph, and holds an MBA in Marketing/Finance from the University of Connecticut.
