Shawndra Harmond is the Director of the Career Pathways Center at Texas Southern University (TSU), where she leads campus-wide efforts to prepare students and alumni for meaningful careers through advising, experiential learning, and employer engagement. With a strong background in career services and workforce development, Shawndra works to ensure every TSU student—especially those from underrepresented and first-generation backgrounds—has access to the tools and opportunities they need to succeed after graduation.
Under her leadership, the Career Pathways Center offers professional development workshops, career fairs, employer panels, internship support, and one-on-one coaching. She is a tireless advocate for student success, fostering relationships with local and national employers to increase hiring pipelines for TSU graduates across industries like healthcare, education, government, tech, and finance.
Shawndra is known for her innovative approach to integrating virtual job simulations and real-world learning experiences into student programming. She is passionate about creating equitable career access for all students, including student-athletes, veterans, LGBTQIA+ students, and students with disabilities.
A frequent collaborator with faculty and administrators, Shawndra also works to align career readiness with academic programs and university-wide student success goals. Her work has helped raise the visibility of TSU talent among employers and expanded career exploration resources for both current students and alumni.
Shawndra holds a deep commitment to TSU’s mission and is driven by the belief that every student deserves a pathway to economic mobility and career fulfillment.
