Most known by colleagues, students, and employers for her “southern hospitality approach” to customer service, Christy Mantzanas has served students and led teams in higher education for over 20 years. Throughout her career, she has gained a unique perspective and a diverse range of experience by leading at a private university, a state college, and a major state university.

In her current role as the Director of Employer Relations with the Florida State University (FSU) Career Center, she strives to expand student and employer engagement by infusing a dose of innovation into both signature programs and new initiatives including FSU Talent Treks, the redesigned Partner Program, and the launch of competition-style events that attract students in high numbers and bring together multiple campus partners.

Her S.O.A.R. (Strengths, Opportunities, Aspirations, Results) method to strategic planning coupled with the Four C’s (Care, Coach, Contribute, and Celebrate) as the team’s foundation brings the Center’s employer engagement strategy to life through the consistent achievement of goals that build meaningful bridges between students and employers.

To be a well-rounded, servant leader, Christy dedicates time to lifelong learning and serves as a subject matter expert speaking at Career Services gatherings across the US. Most recently she presented at the Big Bend Society for Human Resource Managers (2024), Southern Association of Colleges and Employers (SoACE) Annual Conference (2022 and 2023) and the SoACE Employer Relations Summit (2023 and 2024) as well as co-presented at the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Annual Conference (2023). She also graduated from the inaugural cohort of the SoACE LEAD Program and now serves as the Chair of the SoACE Sponsorship Taskforce.
