College for Creative Studies, SAIC, and Smith College, will share case studies for initiatives to enhance social capital for First Gen students. Learn how each institution uses an 8 step framework to support First Gen students in building professional connections and accessing the hidden job market, plus boosting equity and post-college outcomes.

Learning Objectives:

Implement an 8-step social capital curriculum tailored to marginalized students that can be applied effectively in arts and liberal arts colleges, both inside and outside the classroom.
Measure social capital gains and program effectiveness using outcomes data and career readiness assessments from diverse student populations.
Identify two strategies to integrate equity-focused practices into career development programs, enhancing access to professional connections and the hidden job market for underserved students.
