Internships bridge academic learning with professional experience but are scarce in rural areas, contributing to "brain drain" and affecting local economies. Using case studies from UT Austin’s “Home to Texas” and SFASU’s CARRI Rural Internship program, this session will show how rural internships benefit students, communities, and institutions.
